There are two ways to read the on-chip Flash, and there are corresponding functions that protect these accesses. They are as follows:
- Reading with a parallel programmer
The ROM code protect function is provided for disabling this type of accesss.
Setting the ROM code protect control register located in the on-chip Flash disables a parallel programmer from reading or writing the on-chip Flash.
Reading with a serial programmer
The ID code check function is provided for disabling this type of access.
Once you enable this function (setting an ID code in the on-chip Flash), the MCU will refuse to respond to the serial programmer until the proper ID code is input.
