What will happen if a service call dedicated is issued from a non-task?

Latest Updated:07/14/2015

Question:

What will happen if a service call dedicated for a non-task and having a name starting with “i” is issued from within a task?

As a kind of inverse of this question, what will happen if a service call dedicated to a task is issued from within a non-task?

Answer:

Some operating systems can issue calls in this way, while others cannot. The RI600V4 and RI600PX distinguish between service calls with “i” and service calls without “i”, however the RI78V4, RI850V4, RI850MP, RX850, RX850 Pro, and HI7700/4 do not.

As an extended specification of uITRON, service calls without “i” can be issued in non-task contexts and service calls with “i” can be issued in task contexts.
