Can I change the section the standard library function allocated?

Latest Updated:09/18/2015

Question:

Is it possible to change the section to which a standard library function is allocated??

Answer:

No, section names cannot be changed per function.

Note that the section name for the whole library module can be changed, by using the –rename link option.

E.g. in CC-RH V1.00 to 1.01:
If the library is to be generated as libm2.lib, and libm.lib is to be changed from the .text section to the .text2 section, start the optimizing linkage editor (rlink) with the following option specified.
rlink.exe -library=libm.lib -rename=(.text=.text2) -form=library -output=libm2.lib

For details of the –rename option, refer to the user’s manual of the compiler.
