How to use PDG without conflicting with an on chip emulator?

Latest Updated:04/01/2014

Question:

I am using the Peripheral Driver Generator and get the following warning.

Conflicting with an on-chip emulator pin.

Answer:

The message indicates that a pin function you have selected is multiplexed on the same pin as a pin function required by an on-chip emulator. Please ignore the message if you are not using an on-chip emulator.

The pins used differ according to the type of the on-chip emulator and debugging interface. For more information, refer to E1/E20 Emulator Additional Document for User’s Manual and the User’s Manual: Hardware for the MCU you are using.

  • E1
    • For JTAG: TDI, TDO, TMS, TCK, TRST
    • For FINE: FINEC(this is not used for the RX200 series)

  • E20
    • For JTAG: TDI, TDO, TMS, TCK, TRST, TRDATA3, TRDATA2, TRDATA1, TRDATA0, TRCLK, TRSYNC

※These six pins are not employed when the E20 emulator is connected through the 14-pin connector.
