Does pass-through current flow when the midpoint of VCC and GND is in?

Latest Updated:03/23/2009

Question:

In the general input pins sharing with an analog input, does a pass-through current flow when the midpoint potential of VCC and GND is entered?

Answer:

When it is used as an analog input, a pass-through current must not flow even if an input voltage is midpoint potential.

However, when it is used as a general input and an input voltage is midpoint potential, a pass-through current flows. In addition, you should be aware that the characteristic of LSI is deteriorated and it may cause a fatal distruction when the pass-trough current flows over a long duration.
